Background

Boiler Room: London returned for its second festival of the year in Burgess Park, following the success of Boiler Room’s show in May, also produced by The Fair. We Are OPS ensured the safe delivery of the event alongside with ensuring smooth operations management.

The festival brought together up to 20,000 music lovers for a two-day event, with an increased capacity, additional day of music and brand-new stage.

Boiler Room partnered with SoulectionPlaces + Faces and Teletech to curate a line-up of the most exciting artists of the moment, including Mall GrabCharlie SparksJoe KayLunice and Bradley Zero – catering to tastes across the electronic music scene.

 Challenges

·       Producing and safely managing stages that enabled the public to join DJs on stage, as part of the Boiler Room Open Dancefloor

·       Ensuring effective crowd management was immensely important, both in advance of the event and onsite.

·       Coordinating with multiple security teams to make sure all areas were covered, ensuring effective deployment

Delivery

·       Health and Safety: Conducted thorough health and safety supplier audits for the festival and actively managed all aspects of health and safety to ensure the well-being of all attendees

·       Community Engagement: We actively engaged with the local community, fostering positive relationships and ensuring their involvement in the festival, as well as providing a dedicated community hotline

Results

·       Another successful Boiler Room in Burgess Park

·       Positive SAG feedback

·       Funds were successfully raised for Southwark Pensioners and Mentivity as a result of community engagement

·       OPS's commitment to crowd management, audience experience and community engagement was celebrated in a feature on Festival Insights: ‘The Fair and We Are OPS in the Boiler Room’
