Stakeholder Engagement: Northacre

Background

Northacre, a leading UK property developer, is hoping to launch a new permanent open air street food market at Orchard Place later this year. The market is curated by Kerb and will operate weekly, bringing some of London's best street food to development in the heart of Westminster.

The Northacre team are keen to ensure local stakeholders, businesses, residents and communities in the design of the market and approached OPS to lead on a Stakeholder Engagement programme.

OPS understands that the success of any project is underpinned by effective stakeholder engagement and we use a range of channels to ensure we reach the right people.

Challenges

  • OPS were tasked with delivering a realistic timeline that would meet the needs of the client without  compromising on the quality of stakeholder engagement.

  • Through the development of the market, the Northacre team wanted to ensure they respected the needs of the community to move freely in and around the place they live, with certainty of safety and limited inconvenience from project works.

Delivery

  • Handling of all market-related queries from the public, stakeholders and businesses in the vicinity of Orchard Place via a dedicated email mailbox.

  • We organised an online stakeholder briefing session and Q+A, as well as an in-person exhibition with representatives from Northacre, OPS, Kerb and Tetratech.

  • Attendees to the online and in-person sessions were encouraged to complete the feedback form to provide further comments on their experience.

  • Following the sessions, we will use the data and information captured to inform our detailed consultation report which shows how Northacre's plans have evolved prior to submitting the planning application.

Results

  • Dedicated services created to satisfy specific needs of the client

  • Successful connection with stakeholders
