Operations and Health & Safety: NTS Radio Festival

Background

NTS is a London based radio streaming platform built by music lovers, for music lovers. It provides curious minds with a home for music discovery by broadcasting music from over 50 cities around the globe, with artists are platformed by both radio and other creative projects.

We worked alongside our colleagues at sister agency and production company, The Fair, to ensure the safe delivery of the first ever NTS festival, ‘One Day’ at Burgess Park. OPS and The Fair were asked to provide a full service for the festival including production, operations and health and safety.

Challenges

• Producing our first event at Burgess Park: this meant there were no key stakeholders identified, so we didn’t know how the local residents would react to the event

• Ensuring we were working in line with the license, considering noise levels and curfew

• Coordinating with multiple security teams to make sure all areas were covered, ensuring effective deployment

• Having to redesign the PUDO route, taking in consideration route closures already happening at Burgess Park

• Successful event with 5,000 attendees
